Tommy Gaertner, DMD
With his fresh perspective, valued experience, and background, Dr. Gaertner has the privilege of treating all patients in his Miami Beach office like family. He is passionate about dentistry, which is why he attends multiple continuing education courses and local study clubs to guarantee dental excellence to his patients.
Dr. Tommy Gaertner is originally from Antwerp, Belgium, where he grew up in a family of dentists. From an early age, Dr. Gaertner has always been exposed to high-quality dental care, which has led to his passion and knowledge of dentistry. After graduating high school, he went on to attend Nova Southeastern University in Florida, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Patient satisfaction and quality of care are his main priorities. Over the years of being exposed to dentistry, Dr. Gaertner has developed a special interest in compassionate dental cosmetic procedures to enhance patients’ smiles and self-esteem. Dr. Gaertner has completed training in esthetic dentistry by world-renowned doctors, including Dr. Michael Apa, Dr. Larry Rosenthal (New York), and Dr. Clayton Chan (Las Vegas). Over the years, he has had the honor of enhancing the smiles of numerous athletes, models, and music personalities.
Roymar Perez, DDS
Born in Cuba into a family of physicians, Dr. Roymar Perez was raised in a healthcare environment that ignited his passion for caring for others. After finishing high school, he attended Dental School at the University of Havana, where he graduated with the highest academic distinction (summa cum laude).
Dr. Perez continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Florida, completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry. He is a member of both the Florida Dental Association and the American Dental Association. A certified Invisalign provider, he also performs conscious sedation (nitrous oxide), dental implants, and various other dental procedures. Highly skilled and motivated to help people, Dr. Perez believes the best part of his work is the opportunity to change lives by helping patients smile with confidence again.
Backed by experience and expertise in the dental field, Dr. Perez treats each patient like family. His passion for dentistry drives his commitment to continuous learning through various courses and local study groups, ensuring his patients receive top-quality care.
When he’s not at work, Dr. Perez enjoys biking, fishing, flying his drone, and spending time at the beach with his family and dog, Joy.
Steven Berkowitz, DDS, MS
Dr. Steven Berkowitz is an accomplished periodontist who has taken excellent care of his patients for over 15 years. As an experienced periodontist, he treats all varieties of gum infections utilizing the latest minimally invasive laser treatments. He is also trained in the Pinhole Surgical Technique, which makes gum grafting easy with a quick recovery and great results. He also specializes in dental implants to replace missing teeth.
He is an alumnus of Towson University in Maryland, and he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Remaining at UMB, Dr. Berkowitz pursued postgraduate studies in periodontics and earned a Master of Science.
A member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontics, and the Academy of Osseointegration, he has been honored with awards from the Northeast Society of Periodontics and the International College of Dentists.
Pablo Acuña, DDS
Dr. Pablo Acuña is a dedicated and passionate dentist with over 10 years of clinical experience in Europe and the United States. Originally from Spain, Dr. Acuña completed his dental training at European University of Madrid, followed by advanced postgraduate education in Oral Surgery & Implant Rehabilitation, and Advanced Endodontics at University of Sevilla.
Eager to expand his knowledge and deliver the highest quality of care, Dr. Acuña pursued an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, New York. There, he received extensive training in comprehensive dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, and urgent care.
Dr. Acuña’s professional interests include implantology, restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics. He is committed to continuous learning, regularly attending courses and lectures to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he strives to make every patient feel comfortable, understood, and confident in their dental care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Acuña enjoys exploring new cultures, traveling, spending time with family, and staying active. His warm personality and dedication to excellence make him a trusted partner in helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.
